Take back your life, one step at a time
You’re doing work that changes lives, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of your own. It’s possible to thrive in both your career and personal life, creating a balance that works for you.
Imagine waking up energized, leaving work on time without guilt, and having the space to truly enjoy your life. Coaching can get you there—and I’m here to help you make it happen.
Burnout doesn’t have to hold you back from the life you deserve
Burnout can feel like a never-ending cycle. You’re constantly juggling demands at work, skipping meals, working late nights, and still falling behind. The stress weighs on you, leaving you drained, frustrated, and questioning if this is just the price of doing work that matters.
You’ve tried therapy, self-care routines, and productivity hacks, but nothing seems to stick. The truth is, you don’t have to accept burnout as your reality. It’s possible to break free, reclaim your energy, and build a life where rest isn’t a luxury—it’s your foundation.
one-on-one Coaching program
The support you need to beat burnout
Exhaustion and overwhelm might feel like a non-negotiable part of your life, but it doesn’t have to be. My 1:1 coaching program is specifically for public health professionals like you—women navigating the challenges of meaningful but demanding careers.
Over six months, we’ll work to create personalized strategies that help you:
Set boundaries without guilt and stop overextending yourself.
Eliminate overwhelm by giving your brain the mental rest it craves.
Build balance between work and life that aligns with your values and priorities.
This isn’t a cookie-cutter approach—it’s a transformative journey tailored to your unique needs. With weekly coaching sessions, tools for sustainable change, and a foundation of ongoing support, you’ll gain the skills to not just survive but thrive, both personally and professionally.
“My favorite part has been getting practical applied tools to help me in the day-to-day. That's one of the *big differences* that I've not gotten from therapy.”
I had never worked with a life coach before, and as someone with a therapeutic background (and experience in therapy), I was worried there wouldn’t be space to address the personal dynamics and underlying elements I understood but hadn’t been able to change. Marissa helped me identify patterns that lead to burnout, provided practical tools, and helped me build the capacity and power to thrive.

education & credentials
From public health burnout to empathy-led coaching
With over a decade in public health, I’ve experienced firsthand the demands of the field. I earned my Master’s in Public Health from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and completed a post-degree fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
From there, I served as Assistant Director for an HRSA-funded public health training center and later as Executive Director for a research center at UC Berkeley, where I guided professionals in creating meaningful, lasting change.
Now, I bring that expertise to coaching, helping public health leaders overcome burnout and build lives that are as fulfilling personally as they are professionally. My approach is shaped by years of collaboration with top public health organizations and leaders.

This isn’t just a discovery call—it’s a focused, high-value session designed to give you immediate clarity and actionable insights. During our time together, we’ll dig into your biggest challenges and identify the obstacles that are holding you back. You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of what’s standing in your way and at least one personalized solution or strategy you can implement right away.
If we determine we’re the right fit, I’ll also share more about how we can work together to create long-term results. Either way, you’ll leave the call with greater clarity and a renewed sense of direction.
-
Yes! I don’t want finances to be a barrier to reducing your stress. My standard payment plan is four equal payments of $1,500 with no interest fees. If you need a different structure, we can discuss options that suit your needs.
-
Your progress doesn’t stop when the program ends—I’ve designed ongoing support to help you continue growing. As an alumnus (or alumna) of the program, you’ll have access to exclusive opportunities, including tools, workshops, and resources tailored to your next stage of growth.
You’ll also have the option to extend our work together if you feel you’d benefit from additional coaching or need extra time to achieve specific goals. My priority is to ensure you leave the program equipped with the tools and confidence to maintain balance and thrive long-term.

This program is designed for women and individuals socialized as women. If you identify as non-binary or trans but share those experiences, you are absolutely welcome here.
-
While my coaching is tailored to public health professionals, I’m open to working with others if it’s the right fit. Let’s discuss your needs during a consultation.
-
Absolutely. If you’re feeling busy and overwhelmed, that’s exactly when coaching can make the biggest impact. Think of it like calling a plumber when you have a leak—you address the problem when it’s happening.
-
Our work together includes one weekly coaching call and a short worksheet to complete between sessions.

My coaching is focused on helping full-time public health professionals overcome burnout and enjoy their lives. If you’re a student or early in your career, I recommend my podcast, Redefining Rest, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
“It felt good to have somebody understand the work in general and a lot of the different workplace dynamics .”
I've done quite a bit of personal work, whether that's reading about happiness, well-being mindset, or habits. I felt fairly savvy about a lot of ways of understanding the human condition. And I felt surprised at how much progress, insight & new territory I could get with the one-on-one coaching.
